Half Term 3 -

WC 25/01

Design and Technology, Design and the built environment - Architecture project.

 

Design Brief… Design a prototype structure, the purpose to serve as a lookout and shelter for South Beach

Life-guards. The Structure should reflect a chosen design style after conducting extensive research, analysis and observational studies. The building should enhance its environment and use new, emerging technologies and materials in its design.

 

Research and analysis- Existing structures (lifeguard towers) and design styles one of -

Constructivism, De Stijl, Bauhaus

Year 9 D&T projects will have a booklet posted on the google classroom with Mr Evans who is delivering both Art/Design and D&T Y9 while working in Y9 bubble. All Booklet sections will be uploaded onto the D&T Google Classroom. Instructions will be provided with the work sections on the D&T classroom.

 

Some of the sections will be missed during remote learning because of resources which are not available while remote learning from home. Please follow instructions on Google classroom for sections to complete. On return to school missed sections can be covered in classroom environment.


Students can print booklet sections out if you have a printer, or if they prefer, they can complete it on paper and email a picture to

WC 01/02

Design, concepts – Initial design sketches lifeguard tower.  First sketches in 3D with annotation displaying exterior shape of the structure.

WC 08/02

Design, development – Development drawings of one of the concept ideas. Use drawings and detailed drawings to develop one concept idea. Again, use annotation to explain development points.

 

Further sections will be covered following half term pending guidelines on returning to school.
